Alfred Childs Elected to National Board of Trustees of March of Dimes

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., MARCH 25, 2004 – Alfred Childs, Managing Director of US Trust Company of Texas, an investment management trust and private banking company, has been elected to the national Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes, it was announced today.  

March of Dimes trustees, who serve as volunteers, represent the public in governing the organization and advancing its mission to save babies from birth defects, infant mortality, and premature birth.  

Mr. Childs has been a volunteer leader with the March of Dimes since 1989, when he first served as chairman of the Dallas WalkAmerica.  He joined the Board of the Dallas Division of the March of Dimes in 1990 and served as chapter chairman for three years.  He became the chair of the March of Dimes National Office of Volunteers in January 2001.

Prior to his affiliation with US Trust of Texas, Mr. Childs was Senior Vice President for Texas Commerce Bank.  Mr. Childs is a graduate of Baylor University.  He and his wife, Beverly Childs, have two sons and reside in Dallas.


Carol Evans Elected to National Board of Trustees of March of Dimes

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., MARCH 25, 2004 – Carol Evans, Chief Executive Officer and President of Working Mother Media, Inc., has been elected to the national Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes, it was announced today.  

March of Dimes trustees, who serve as volunteers, represent the public in governing the organization and advancing its mission to save babies from birth defects, infant mortality, and premature birth.  

Evans began her career at The McCall Publishing Company, where she worked on the launch of Working Mother magazine, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. She led the magazine for its first ten years, during which she developed the well-known 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers.  Prior to returning to acquire Working Mother in 2001, Ms. Evans served as Chief Operating Officer of The Chief Executive Group and President of Stagebill, Inc. Her career also includes stints at American Home magazine, and Ms. magazine.

A graduate of SUNY-Empire State, Ms. Evans lives in Chappaqua, New York, with her husband, Bob Coulombe, and their two children, Robert and Julia Rose. Robert was born 6 weeks premature, and Ms. Evans is dedicated to helping women avoid premature birth. 

She holds the position of 1st Vice President of Advertising Women of New York (AWNY), and she serves on the boards of Young Playwrights and IMAG, the independent magazine division of the Magazine Publishers of America.  In 2003, Ms. Evans was named as MIN Magazine's “21 Most Intriguing People” in the media industry and received the Women's Venture Fund's Highest Leaf Award. 


Beth Ford Elected to National Board of Trustees of March of Dimes

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., MARCH 25, 2004 – Beth Ford, Senior Vice President of Global Operations and Information Technology of Scholastic Corporation, has been elected to the national Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes, it was announced today.

March of Dimes trustees, who serve as volunteers, represent the public in governing the organization and advancing its mission to save babies from birth defects, infant mortality, and premature birth. 

“We're very pleased that Ms. Ford is joining the March of Dimes because she shares our goal to improve the health of babies,” said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, President of the March of Dimes.

Prior to joining Scholastic in 2000, Ms. Ford worked with The Pepsi Bottling Group, Perseco Company, and Mobil Corporation.  A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Ms. Ford holds a bachelor of business administration degree in Business Management from Iowa State University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University Business School.  She sits on the Dean's Advisory Council for the College of Business at Iowa State University and was named by Crain's NY Business as one of their “40 under 40” Rising Stars in 2003.  She currently resides in New York City.


Marc Guild Elected to National Board of Trustees of March of Dimes

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., MARCH 25, 2004 – Marc Guild, president of the marketing division and director of Interep National Radio Sales, Inc., has been elected to the national Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes, it was announced today.

March of Dimes trustees, who serve as volunteers, represent the public in governing the organization and advancing its mission to save babies from birth defects, infant mortality, and premature birth.  

“We're very pleased that Mr. Guild is joining the March of Dimes because he shares our goal to improve the health of babies,” said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, President of the March of Dimes.  

Mr. Guild is a member of the March of Dimes Achievement in Radio Awards National Board of Governors.  He is also an active member of the Young Presidents organization, the International Radio & Television Society, and the Museum of Television & Radio. He is on the board of directors at the Radio Advertising Bureau and the board of the 18th Chromosome Registry.  He also maintains an active memberships at the Ad Council and the Family Violence Prevention Fund.  

Mr. Guild holds a degree from the executive leadership program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and has a degree in executive marketing from Harvard University.  He and his wife, Dale, reside in Bronxville, New York and have four children. 


Judith Nolte Elected to National Board of Trustees of March of Dimes

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., MARCH 25, 2004 – Judith Nolte, Editor-in-Chief of American Baby Magazine Group, has been elected to the national Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes, it was announced today.  

March of Dimes trustees, who serve as volunteers, represent the public in governing the organization and advancing its mission to save babies from birth defects, infant mortality, and premature birth.

Ms. Nolte has been a volunteer leader for the March of Dimes since the mid-1980s, when she was recruited to serve on its National Communications Advisory Council, a group she has now chaired for more than two decades.  She also served on the Board of the Greater New York Chapter in the early 1990s and of its Communications Committee. 

Prior to joining American Baby, Ms. Nolte was on the editorial staff of several Conde Nast magazines. And from 1980-1983, she was Editor-in-Chief of Weight Watchers magazine, along with her American Baby responsibilities. 

Ms. Nolte holds a B.S. degree from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. from New York University.  Among her industry associations, she was on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Magazine Editors for 15 years and served as president from l986-l988.
