TITLE: Area Director
REPORTS TO: East Regional Vice President
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Area Director is responsible for providing the management, fundraising, and professional expertise to coordinate and support March of Dimes activities and programs in chapters. The Area Director must maintain an effective and well-informed staff and volunteer structure in chapters.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for developing annual Region-wide Revenue Development Plans. Active participation with chapter staff and volunteers, RVP and other Area Directors in developing Chapter Plans and implementation to support the Region Plan. Will develop and deliver training to support revenue development.
Serve as direct supervisor of the State Directors of assigned chapters and oversee all phases of personnel administration as well as preparation and formulation of the budget process and program delivery.
Provide the Foundation’s volunteer leadership with the support and assistance required to achieve organizational objectives and to maintain a broad based volunteer structure at all levels of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management or comparable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten to fifteen years experience in voluntary health or comparable business experience, including management level exposure.
Thorough knowledge of community organizations, fundraising, program activities and parliamentary procedure.
Excellent communication, public speaking and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
