TITLE: Assistant Community Director
REPORTS TO: Miami-Dade/Monroe Executive Division Director
LOCATION: Miami, FLorida
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
Coordinates and implements existing fundraising campaigns including March for Babies and special events, and newly conceived fundraising events. Works with current volunteers and seeks to recruit new volunteers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and collaborates with other community directors in planning and implementing existing fundraising events
Organize and implement new fundraising activities, as directed
Manage and develop existing volunteers; recruit new volunteers to assist with fundraising and other volunteer activities
Make presentations to obtain corporate sponsorships and donations as directed
Works with State Communications Director, Executive Director, other community directors and volunteers to ensure accuracy of information released to the public
Work with program staff and executive director as well as volunteers to ensure that every event contains program content to enhance the knowledge of the audience and general public regarding the March of Dimes mission
Assist with other specific projects, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
1-3 years related experience
Sales, Marketing, Volunteer Management and/or Development experience preferred
Strong computer, verbal and written communication skills are required
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously is essential
Ability to work as part of a team.
