  TITLE: Assistant Community Director

REPORTS TO: State Director

LOCATION: Falmouth, Maine

REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement

POSITION PURPOSE:
With volunteer support, this person is accountable for coordinating and implementing cost-effective fund-raising and communication activities; acts as a liaison between MOD, its volunteers and the local community by recruiting volunteers, coordinating sponsorships and recruiting teams.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  •  Recruit, orient and monitor performance of volunteers to organize and meet goals.
  •  Manage and provide leadership to event committees to ensure members are fully supported and accomplish tasks required for a successful event.
  •  Develop and maintain working relationships with community leaders and organizers to promote MOD message and build support for MOD mission. 
  •  Prepare and maintain adequate records to evaluate cost effectiveness, profitability and public awareness of events.

 



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  •  Up to three years experience
  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills
  •  Detail oriented, adaptable, organized and able to successfully manage multiple talks
  •  Team player
  •  Computer skills, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
