Hollywood Squares Celebrities "Sign On" With the March of Dimes

More than 100 Celebrity Guests Autograph Baby Scrapbook for Auction on eBay

WHITE PLAINS, NY, March 15, 2004 – Where else would Gilbert Gottfried meet Miss America, Stone Cold Steve Austin take on Dr. Ruth Westheimer or Ted Danson find harmony with Lance Bass?  Only in the pages of the Hollywood Squares/March of Dimes Celebrity Scrapbook, a collection of more than 100 autographs from top celebrities being auctioned on eBay to benefit the March of Dimes.  The Hollywood Squares/March of Dimes Celebrity Scrapbook will be auctioned beginning Friday, March 19 through Monday, March 29, with 100 percent of the winning bid donated to the March of Dimes.  To bid on this scrapbook, go to www.marchofdimes.com/ebay.

“Get out your wallets, America, and get ready to bid,” said Tom Bergeron, host of Hollywood Squares and longtime March of Dimes celebrity volunteer.  “This is a great opportunity to get a one-of-a-kind scrapbook and support a wonderful cause. It's important for everyone to come together to help in ensuring a healthy birth for every baby."



“We’re thrilled to have Tom lend his time and talents to help the March of Dimes, as well as ask some of his friends to help too,” said Jane Massey, chief operating officer and executive vice president of the March of Dimes. “He plays an important role in raising both awareness and funds to support research to help America’s babies.”

Bergeron became a national volunteer when he joined the March of Dimes A.I.R. (Achievement in Radio) Awards Board of Governors.  He currently serves as host of one of television’s most beloved game shows, Hollywood Squares and ABC’s primetime series America’s Funniest Home Videos. He received an Emmy Award for outstanding Game Show Host for his work on Hollywood Squares. He has also lent his more than 20 years of broadcasting experience to ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS’ The Early Show, where he served as a fill-in anchor.
