Katrina Fund Surpasses $3 Million

Three new March of Dimes mobile health care vans will soon bring much-needed medical services to pregnant women, mothers, and babies in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and other areas of Louisiana devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  These Mom & Baby Health Care Center vans will provide up to 20,000 medical visits for women and children, including prenatal and well-child care, in the first three years of operation.  The March of Dimes vans are made possible by a gift of $3 million from the people of Qatar.  An additional $750,000 has been contributed by the Office of Minority Health and by generous individual donors.  Greg Gumbel has been leading the March of Dimes in this campaign to help babies affected by the hurricanes in the Gulf Coast.  You can help us save more babies in the Gulf Coast and reach our goal of raising $5 million for hurricane relief by making your own donations today.
