November is Prematurity Awareness Month
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., OCTOBER 1, 2007 – Motherhood® Maternity is once again joining forces with the March of Dimes to help give every baby their nine months. For the fifth year in a row, Motherhood® Maternity, a national sponsor of the March of Dimes Prematurity Campaign and a supporter of the 2007 Prematurity Awareness Month “Every Baby Has a Story” Bus Tour, has joined the national effort to raise awareness and fund research to save babies from premature birth.
“We are pleased to announce that Motherhood® Maternity will continue their valued relationship with the March of Dimes,'' said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. “They are committed to our mission to assure a healthy birth for every baby.''
“Our partnership with the March of Dimes is a top priority for Motherhood® Maternity as we work to raise awareness about the risks of premature births,'' said Rebecca Matthias, President and Chief Creative Officer for Motherhood® Maternity. “We are proud to have donated more than a million dollars to the March of Dimes through our various projects and we look forward to reaching new goals.''
Motherhood® Maternity has raised funds and awareness among pregnant women through programs such as their Be Healthy Be Happy charm, Ms. Matthias' book, 51 Secrets of Motherhood, and in-store donations from the more than 600 Motherhood® Maternity locations nationwide
Included with each Be Healthy Be Happy Charm, Motherhood® Maternity offers these nine helpful hints for a healthy pregnancy:

Eat balanced, nutritious meals daily 6. Manage stress in your life 7. Exercise moderately 8. Maintain healthy teeth and gums 9. Know the warning signs of preterm labor |
This November, which is Prematurity Awareness Month, customers can link directly to the March of Dimes Web site through Motherhood® Maternity at
www.motherhood.com. Motherhood® Maternity continues to encourage all mom-to-be to visit its stores to learn more about supporting the March of Dimes and to continue to help spread this important health message.
In addition, this year the March of Dimes will celebrate all babies -- those born healthy and those who need help to survive -- with a traveling “Every Baby Has a Story” bus that will crisscross the country collecting the most memorable, relevant, inspiring or humorous baby stories from moms and dads, related to pregnancy, childbirth, or the early years. There's also a Web site, marchofdimes.com/everybaby, that enables people who can't visit the bus to contribute and read stories.
