POSITION PURPOSE:
Direct the chapter’s implementation of Program Plan, which includes activities and projects related to the Foundation’s mission, community services, and program volunteer support. This position ensures that the March of Dimes is an active participant in improving the health of babies in the chapter’s communities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate the MCH needs across the state in order to allocate resources and address priority needs.
Recruit, develop and maintain a strong volunteer base for program activities including planning, implementation and evaluation.
Cultivate relationships and develop collaborative partnerships with MCH agencies across Georgia.
Ensure that community programs target the greatest needs resulting in measurable outcomes.
Manage a statewide grants process that fits the strategic direction of the chapter and is evaluated on an ongoing basis.
Provide continuing education for perinatal health care providers on topics relevant to MOD mission.
Oversee the development & implementation of Prematurity Campaign programs.
Work with chapter staff to ensure integration of programs with fundraising and communication activities.
Oversee dissemination of information and education to staff and volunteers in the areas of mission, programs and public affairs.
Ensure that the Georgia Chapter meets/exceeds Program, Public Affairs and NICU Family Support Standards for Success.
Secure funding as needed to ensure delivery of effective chapter programs, and NICU Family Support.
Maintain an active Public Affairs committee and support legislation as indicated by the Office of Government Affairs and local advocacy opportunities
Actively participate as a member of the Chapter management team.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Master's degree in public health, public policy, public administration, social work or equivalent education and experience.
Minimum five years experience in maternal and child health or related field.
Strong leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and build teams with staff and volunteers.
Strategic planning, oral and written communications skills, analysis plus problem solving skills a must.
Extensive knowledge in program planning, evaluation, data analysis, grants review and grant writing.
