  TITLE: Director of Field Services

REPORTS TO: State Director

LOCATION: Jacksonville, FL

REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement

POSITION PURPOSE:
Recruit, train, supervise and develop Executive Directors, Division Directors and/or community directors. Serve as liaison between the chapter and division staff.  Recruit, train and develop high level volunteers for boards and committees.   Ensure overall financial success of divisions.  Manage fundraising activities and major accounts.   Participate as an active member of the management team.

 



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure double digit chapter growth in all areas (March for Babies, Special Events, and Annual Giving) as well as sustained profitability in the Jacksonville, North Central, Northwest divisions
  • Monitor core tactic process for March for Babies, special events, volunteer recruitment and annual/major gifts
  • Ensure sound financial viability of the day to day operations.
  • Develop and monitor income and expense budget in conjunction with the State Director
  • Recruit, retain and develop staff and volunteers and develop chapter based goals and objectives and implement plans for same through staff and volunteer participation.
  • Lead strategic fund development and financial development in keeping with chapter needs and in alignment with national strategic and organizational priorities.
  • Act as staff liaison for division board Chairman and selected internal committees and with external local community.
  • Define and implement staff and volunteer training on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Hire, supervise, direct and train community directors in the areas of fundraising, volunteer development, planning and budgeting.
  • Develop and grow relationships with key corporate and civic community leaders.  Manages major relationships.
  • Work with program staff and volunteers to ensure that every event contains program content to enhance the knowledge of the audience and general public regarding the March of Dimes mission, programs, special services and benefits for mothers and babies.
  • Participate as an active member of the Chapter management team.
  • Work to achieve and maintain a proactive visible community image, assuring that the March of Dimes is recognized as a valued community agency.
  • STRONG INTERNAL CANDIDATE IDENTIFIED


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in successful staff and volunteer management.
  • Excellent networking skills.
  • Experience in fundraising, event planning, corporate sponsorship, budgeting. 
  • Strong verbal and written skills, problem-solving, planning, implementation, organization and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership.
  • Flexible hours and ability to travel.  Car and valid driver’s license required.
