March of Dimes Gallup Survey on Folic Acid In This Week's Newsweek Magazine

The September 15, 2003 issue of Newsweek magazine features a story on the 2003 March of Dimes Gallup Survey on Folic Acid. The story, which is on Page 68 of the 'TipSheet' page, is titled 'Take Your Vitamin B' and outlines the important message from the survey: That women of childbearing age need to take a daily B vitamin, which can prevent spina bifida and other birth defects in future babies. The survey shows that many women simply forget to take their daily B vitamin and that 32 percent of women in the United States between the ages of 18 and 45 take a multivitamin containing folic acid on a daily basis.
