Publix Super Markets, Inc., one of Alabama's largest Walk teams, recently was recognized at the March of Dimes National Staff Meeting in Fort Lauderdale. As a community-minded company, Publix first became involved with the March of Dimes in 1995, and has been a million-dollar WalkAmerica team since 1998.
After only a few years, the company's extraordinary efforts made it the number-one team in the country in 2002. In 2006, Publix raised more than 3.1 million dollars, and it already has raised nearly 3 million dollars this year. Overall, it raised 25 million in WalkAmerica. This is outstanding, considering that it has presence in only five states nationwide.
With its tag line, “Where shopping is a pleasure,” Publix has ranked highest among supermarkets for customer satisfaction for 13 consecutive years, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index. Dynamic employees are making that happen, and Publix has been listed among Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” since 1998.
