MARCH OF DIMES NAMES LAURA & BARRIE HARMON, AS 2013 RIVER REGION CITIZENS OF THE YEAR
The River Region Citizen of the Year Testimonial Dinner honors an outstanding Alabama citizen whose distinguished leadership and devoted service to the community have contributed greatly towards the quality of life for Alabama and its people. This event has been instrumental in supporting research and programs designed to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. You can support the March of Dimes in this mission by serving as a sponsor, purchasing a table or purchasing an ad in the commemorative journal. The evening will include a reception, silent auction and dinner. The 2013 River Region Citizen of the Year honorees are Laura and Barrie Harmon.
The March of Dimes River Region Citizen of the Year honors an outstanding citizen whose distinguished leadership and devoted service to the community have contributed greatly to the quality of life for Alabama and its people. The recipient is a person who, in the victory of achieving success and acclaim, has given back generously to others.

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy to save babies, and in 2003 launched a campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth. Currently, the March of Dimes has more than $1,035,148 invested in Alabama community programs and research projects.
