Every year in the United States, more than half a million babies are born too soon, 5460 of them right here in Arkansas. With your help, we work to improve the health of babies and support families if something does go wrong.

Through programs and services in communities across Arkansas, we promote healthy pregnancies and babies, and work to prevent premature birth and birth defects. We educate moms and support families in need.
Stork’s Nest
Stork’s Nest is a community-based, prenatal health promotion program for pregnant women. The program is designed to promote prenatal care participation and healthy behaviors during pregnancy through two components—incentives and education. This program utilizes the Becoming a Mom/Comenzando bien© (link to the Becoming a Mom page) to educate pregnant women.
Healthy Babies Healthy Business
The emotional costs of premature birth to families is high—and so are the financial costs (link to Healthy Babies, Healthy Business page) to businesses.
Prematurity Awareness Month
The March of Dimes has designated November as Prematurity Awareness Month to let us know that premature birth is a crisis in our country and to bring people together to help give all babies their 9 months. The March of Dimes is leading a national effort to save babies from premature birth by funding research to find the causes.
Disaster Preparedness
Natural Disasters can make life more complicated for pregnant women and infants. While we can’t change the weather, we can change what we do to deal with whatever Mother Nature Delivers. Women should discuss any concerns and their delivery plans with their obstetrician or other health care provider.
By raising funds, donating your talents or joining us in a local event, you make a positive difference in the health of babies and families in neighborhoods like yours. Learn how you can help and get involved today.
