This event will take place on November 17, 2012 at the Fountain at Lakewood Village in North Little Rock. The address is Lakewood Village Center, 2851 Lakewood Village Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72116. The family fun activities and awareness ceremony will start at 4:00 pm and go to 5:30 pm.

The ceremony will include a lotus flower release into the fountain. The Legend of the Lotus flower is as old as civilization itself. Its symbolism of mystic and spiritual truth is universal and a shared concept in almost all cultures where the Lotus is embraced. The Lotus is particularly special because of its ability to lie dormant in times of drought and blossom when ideal conditions return to give it life. When we are born, we have all the components for growing, developing and becoming as beautiful as the Lotus, however life is never usually that simple or straightforward for it to allow us to simply blossom.

As with the Lotus, we can go through conditions that render us dormant. The Lotus is a symbol of a strong vital force that can withstand harsh adverse conditions, and as with us, we can find ourselves going through difficult periods in our lives, and our "seed" gets suppressed, but just at the lotus flower, we rise up and bloom in celebration and despite that adversity.
