The March of Dimes Mission
Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives.

In 2008, the California Chapter awarded over $66,000 to communities across the state for small-scale projects.

Project Alpha
This collaborative project of the March of Dimes and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. provides young males with education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.



Commenzando Bien
Comenzando bien is the March of Dimes prenatal education program for Hispanic women. It was developed in partnership with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and is culturally and linguistically appropriate for Hispanic women.





Stork's Nest
Stork’s Nest is a cooperative project of the March of Dimes and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. that provides prenatal education and incentives for low-income pregnant women.  The California Chapter has over 20 incentive programs.



Chain Reaction/Collegiate Council
