Preparing for Disaster

2008 Grants Program
For 2008, the California Chapter funded four multi-year Preconception/Interconception Demonstration Projects and eight one-year Community Service Grants.  





2007 Grants Program
In 2007, the California Chapter awarded over $600,000 to communities throughout the state.





2007 Community Awards
In 2007, the California Chapter awarded $75,000 to communities across the state for small-scale projects.





California Preconception Care Initiative
Recognizing that 60% of pregnancies in CA are unintended, this project, made possible through a grant from March of Dimes to Sutter Medical Center, identifies ways to bring preconception care and counseling into existing health care delivery systems.





Comenzando Bien
Comenzando bien is the March of Dimes prenatal education program for Hispanic women. It was developed in partnership with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and is culturally and linguistically appropriate for Hispanic women.



Project Alpha
This collaborative project of the March of Dimes and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. provides young males with education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.



Stork's Nest
Stork’s Nest is a cooperative project of the March of Dimes and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. that provides prenatal education and incentives for low-income pregnant women.  The California Chapter has over 20 incentive programs.



Chain Reaction/Collegiate Council
