TITLE: March for Babies State Director
REPORTS TO: State Director
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
Direct and oversee statewide March for Babies campaign to include revenue development, account management of state teams, leadership and support for divisions, volunteer leadership recruitment, systems, materials and training.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and execute state 2010 strategic plans for significant March for Babies growth to include teams, sponsorship and volunteer development
· Recruit and develop high-level March for Babies Chairs and Revenue Leaders; work with State Board and targeted members of Division Boards to expand revenue
· Manage and develop major statewide and multi-market walk teams
· Provide leadership, training, guidance and support to divisions; handle specific division responsibilities when needed
· Secure large new walk teams and corporate sponsorships ($50,000 plus)
· Develop income and expense budgets; monitor income and revenue projections
· Lead annual March for Babies planning process for divisions and the state; monitor progress and ensure plans are properly executed
· Work with all chapter departments to ensure their March for Babies responsibilities are carried out including IT, operations, communications and programs
· Manage major logistical event components (incentives, materials, collateral)
· Recruit, develop, lead, and manage high achieving staff
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
· Strong organizational, planning, communications, interpersonal and team building skills required
· Excellent verbal skills including public speaking ability and sales experience
· Ability to travel regularly throughout state of California
· Minimum of eight years experience in fundraising with demonstrated track record of successful income growth (March for Babies or similar walking event experience a plus)
· Experience recruiting and working with high level volunteer leaders
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
