  TITLE: Director of Program Services, Central Valley

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

LOCATION: Fresno, California

REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement

POSITION PURPOSE:

To help develop, market, implement, and administer programs in the areas of public/professional health education, grants, youth leadership, community service and public policy efforts.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

·          Recruit, develop and maintain strong volunteers for division program services committee, public affairs committees, and youth leadership council.

·         Develop and participate in coalitions aimed at improving maternal and child health in the Central Valley Area with a specific focus on achieving measurable outcomes.

·         Manage volunteer committees to accomplish program and public affairs activities.

·         Develop and manage Prematurity Campaign activities including Prematurity Awareness Month.

·         Oversee the implementation of community programs such as Comenzando bien® and Stork’s Nest.

·         Manage the March of Dimes Mission Family program, in conjunction with other staff.

·         Act as liaison between March of Dimes and community prenatal intervention programs

·         Coordinate Chapter’s annual grant making process at the Division level.

·         Heighten organization visibility by outreaching to and collaborating with agencies in communities with high rates of infant mortality and morbidity.

·         Manage professional education activities at the division level.

·         Participate as staff support for all fundraising activities.



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work or related field. Master’s Degree desirable.

¨       3-5 years of experience in non-profit community health agencies.

¨       Demonstrated commitment to improving the health of mothers and babies in low-income communities.

¨       Experience working with diverse and underserved communities

¨       Strong leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills 

¨       Volunteer recruitment/management experience.
