TITLE: Director of March for Babies - California
REPORTS TO: State Director of March for Babies
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
This statewide Los Angeles-based Leadership Team-level position will direct and oversee state-wide March for Babies activities to include account management of state teams, revenue development, leadership and support for division volunteer leadership recruitment, systems, materials and training.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help develop and execute state-wide strategic plan for significant March of Babies growth to include teams, sponsorship and volunteer development
- Serve as first point of contact, manage the walk plan, and provide guidance and support for revenue growth within 4-5 assigned divisions
- Manage and develop major statewide and cross divisional walk teams
- Secure new walk teams
- Recruit and develop high-level March for Babies Chairs and other volunteer leaders
- Secure corporate sponsorship
- Help develop specific income and expense budgets for the event state-wide
- Assist in the development of the March for Babies Communications Plan
- Assist in the marketing and recruitment of statewide March for Babies sponsorships
- Help develop and execute March for Babies planning and training sessions for chapter fund raising staff
- Manage assigned major logistical tasks (incentives, materials, collateral)
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Strong organizational, planning, communications, interpersonal and team building skills required
- Excellent verbal skills including public speaking ability and sales experience
- Ability to travel regularly throughout state of California
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong demonstrated experience in fundraising and high-level volunteer recruitment (WalkAmerica or equivalent experience a plus)
- Experience working with high level volunteer leaders
