Position Purpose

The Development Manager position is accountable for coordinating a variety of fundraising events within the Central Valley and acts as a liaison between March of Dimes, its volunteers, and the local community in which it serves by recruiting volunteer participation, corporate participation, and sponsorship within that community.

Position Responsibilities

• Plans and implements fundraising events as assigned to promote the mission of the March of Dimes.
• Recruits volunteer committees to plan and work on events; educates volunteers on the March of Dimes mission for the purpose of gaining and retaining their commitment.
• Provides leadership, training and support to event committees to ensure success.
• Serves as staff liaison between event committees, division and California chapter.
• Records and completes necessary paperwork and follow up for future events.
• Solicit sponsorship to underwrite costs.
• Procure in-kind donations, prizes, plaques, awards, printing for the purpose of lowering fundraising cost.
• Oversees logistics of events.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Up to three years of fundraising or non-profit experience required
• Computer skills – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Verbal and written communications skills
• Must successfully complete a credit and criminal background check
