Outstanding Colorado Volunteers and Corporate Partners Announced

Accomplishments Honored at Leadership Day Event
DENVER, Colo. / The March of Dimes today announced the winners of its 2008 outstanding supporter awards. Their accomplishments were celebrated at a recent event, March of Dimes Volunteer Leadership Day, held in part at the Colorado governor’s mansion.
Eight volunteers from across Colorado were recognized. Those from the Denver metro area were:
• Graham Benes, Ascendant Development Corporation, outstanding board member.
• Amber Bougher, The Children’s Hospital, outstanding committee member.
• Jane Gibbs, Colorado Gynecological and Obstetrical Society, volunteer of the year.
• David Rubin, A Spice of Life Catering Services and Event Centers, outstanding committee chair.
Those from the Colorado Springs area were:
• Daniel Diedrich, Phil Long Audi, outstanding committee chair.
• Ann Giambalvo, American National Bank, outstanding board member.
• Laureen Keith, Insight Marketing, outstanding committee member.
Grand Junction-area resident Theresa Horvat, of Farmers Insurance Group, was also awarded for outstanding work as a committee member.
Honored as outstanding corporate partners were American National Bank and the Sturm Family Foundation, and Jackson National Life Insurance Company. Southern Colorado’s CBS affiliate, KKTV Channel 11, was recognized as outstanding media partner.
Also honored were the top ten corporate supporters of March for Babies, the walking event and largest annual March of Dimes fundraiser. In order from number one, these included: Loaf ‘N Jug, Farmers, Kmart, Knowledge Learning Corporation, Bank of the West, The Children’s Hospital, FedEx, TCF Bank and CIGNA. In a three-way tie for tenth place were honorees ACE Cash Express, Citi and Famous Footwear.
