DENVER, Colo., Feb. 14, 2005--The Colorado chapter of the March of Dimes today announced that it has named Debra Horwitz director of its Western Slope division. Horwitz is responsible for all activities of the March of Dimes in the area, including fundraising, events, marketing, volunteer development, grants and health education. She also oversees the operation of the division office, located in Grand Junction.

She has also held positions with the Performing Arts Conservatory and the Mesa County Medical Society Alliance. Horwitz earned an MBA from George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Horwitz's first project as division director is planning and implementing March of Dimes WalkAmerica. The event will be held on Saturday, April 30 at Lincoln Park. WalkAmerica is the nation's oldest charitable walking event and the largest annual March of Dimes fundraiser. It takes place in 1400 communities across the country.
