Helping moms and babies in Colorado

The March of Dimes Colorado Chapter funds programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. This includes providing financial support to research and education that will help moms before and during their pregnancies. It also includes working with local medical groups and organizations to improve prenatal care and newborn screening.

Chapter grants are in the form of concentrated partnership initiatives. The chapter plans to develop three-year partnerships with organizations selected to participate in these projects. Our mission investment will focus on CenteringPregnancy and Becoming a Mom/Comenzando bien. CenteringPregnancy is a group care model and Becoming a Mom/Comenzando bien is a prenatal care model. Both are designed to improve the overall health outcomes of mothers and babies. Selected providers and organizations will be those that can demonstrate their ability to further these initiatives and the overall goals of: improving birth outcomes; increasing prenatal care utilization; and, improving the quality of prenatal education for pregnant women in Colorado.
