The March of Dimes is a leader and pioneer in the fight to save babies. We have an outstanding track record of success and we are prepared to accomplish even greater things in the future to solve the problems of prematurity, birth defects, and low birthweight.		  

Get Involved

Since its beginning, the March of Dimes has depended on the gererosity of people like you to carry out its mission of saving babies. Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving gererously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.

Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

Raise money for March for Babies and Blue Jeans for Babies.
Signature Chefs Auction or Elm City Legends.
Take part in community programs in Connecticut that are sponsored by the March of Dimes.


Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.  Currently we also need the following volunteers:

Communications:  Seeking communications professionals from throughout Connecicut to help with marketing communications/public relations planning, graphic design and layout, writing, editing and proofreading, and media planning.   Variety of short and long-term positions available to assist with projects to build awareness of the March of Dimes mission and materials to support fundraising events.   Some on-site meetings may be required, but work may be completed outside of the March of Dimes office.  Please reply by email:  llefurge@marchofdimes.com

Program Services:  Seeking professionals state-wide to serve on our Program Services Committees.   Individuals with maternal child health, public health, rural health, social work, and/or grant writing experience needed to assist with advancing March of Dimes mission in Connecticut.  Activities include grant reviews, outreach and awareness activities, healthcare education efforts, and more.   Please reply by email:  ejones2@marchofdimes.com

March for Babies 2009 Planning Committees: Volunteers are needed in communities across the state to sell sponsorship opportunities, recruit volunteers and new teams, and to plan and implement kick off, rally and walk day activities. Please reply by email:  krussell@marchofdimes.com

Special Event 2009 Planning Commttees:  There are many opportunities available for involvement with the Signature Chefs Auctions, Elm City Legends and Bikers for Babies.  Join one of the planning committees or help the day of the event.  Please reply by email:  dpoudrier@marchofdimes.com

Participate

Funds for March of Dimes research, education, advocacy and community programs are generated through fundraising events. Participants purchase tickets to dinners, awards programs or solicit donations from friends and associates for events like March for Babies, Signature Chefs Auction, Bikers for Babies and more.  If you are interested in attending a March of Dimes fundraising event, please e-mail us or call us at (860) 812-0080.
Partner

Several clubs and organizations partner with the March of Dimes to help further our mission. These groups participate in fundraising events and program activities that reach out to the community. Sponsorship of March of Dimes events and programs promotes a positive corporate image, which supports marketing and sales goals. When you partner with the March of Dimes, you're associating your name/product with an organization whose reputation, history and accomplishments stand alone.

You can still donate to an event even though it's over. Certain events accept continuous donations.
