Since its beginning, the March of Dimes has depended on the generosity of people like you to carry out its mission of saving babies. Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.
Here are just a few ways you can get involved:
Take part in community programs in Connecticut that are sponsored by the March of Dimes
Participate in public affairs efforts related to maternal, infant and child health issues in Connecticut and/or the country
Help with phone calls, mailings or clerical tasks in the March of Dimes office
Help at local events like March for Babies
If you are interested in volunteering with the March of Dimes, please sign up or call one of our offices
Funds for March of Dimes research, education, advocacy and community programs are generated through fundraising events. Participants purchase tickets to dinners, awards programs or solicit donations from friends and associates for March for Babies, Ride, Star Chefs and Blue Jeans for Babies.

The March of Dimes Misison Families are a network of people who work to make a difference in the lives of babies. Families who participate share a common bond — babies who were born with life– threatening complications at birth. Many of the babies spent the first days, even weeks and months, in the neonatal intensive care unit. Others struggled for life until surfactant therapy helped them breathe. They may visit groups of March of Dimes volunteers, schools, companies, and speak at March of Dimes events, sharing their memories and creating greater awareness of the health risks to babies. Other Mission Families may be interested in joining event committees, participating in advocacy efforts and more.
