| East Hartford, CT —The March of Dimes Connecticut Chapter has awarded a grant to East Hartford Community HealthCare, Inc. to support “Caring For Your Baby: From Pre-pregnancy to Cradle,” a program that fills an unmet maternal and child health need here. This program will address the factors identified as contributing to poor pregnancy outcomes by providing high-risk women of child bearing age living in East Hartford with community- and health center-based preconceptual and prenatal education as well as prenatal care case management.
This grant is one of the ways the March of Dimes helps fulfill its mission to prevent birth defects and infant mortality.
“We are thrilled to receive the March of Dimes funding. It will allow us to provide health education at multiple sites in the community increasing the likelihood of reaching women at higher risk for poor pregnancy outcomes,” said Marjorie A. Berry, Executive Director of East Hartford Community HealthCare, Inc.
East Hartford Community HealthCare, Inc. is a provider of community-based, high quality, comprehensive primary and preventive medical, dental, and social services to persons in all age groups and regardless of their ability to pay.
