Prematurity Campaign in Connecticut
Preterm and low birthweight births are on the rise. Babies born too soon and too small struggle to survive those first few weeks and sometimes months of life. They are more likely to have developmental delays, chronic respiratory problems and vision or hearing impairment. The March of Dimes is dedicated to reducing the number of babies born early and/or too small; programs focus on education about the signs of preterm labor and research into the causes.
Prematurity Awareness Month is November 2007. Remember that Prematurity Awareness Day is Tuesday, November 13, 2007. Find out what you can do this November at www.marchofdimes.com.
Connect with families who understand! Families affected by prematurity are also encouraged to visit the newest March of Dimes online resource: SHARE. Here families can share their stories, connect with other NICU families, and ask questions. Visit today!
