Florida Chapter Volunteers visit Capitol Hill to advocate for mothers and babies
08-Oct-09
More than 200 March of Dimes volunteers and staff members hit Capitol Hill during the annual March of Dimes Volunteer Leadership Conference in Washington D.C.

More than 100 meetings where held to urge Members of Congress to support maternal and pediatric priorities in health reform and to approve critical federal funding for research, prevention, and public health programs designed to prevent birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

The volunteers from the Florida Chapter met with Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schutlz, Congressman Allen Boyd, and Congresswoman Kathy Castor’s Chief of Staff, Jocelyn Reid.
