Bikers for Babies RIDE - Space Coast
Space Coast Harley-Davidson/Buell Dealership in Palm Bay
The RIDE is apprx. 70 miles of escorted Florida Beauty! Highlights of the RIDE will include traveling over the Wabasso bridge where you can view the Atlantic Ocean and the Banana River! Travel along US 1 and A1A all with NO traffic signals, stop signs, or traffic worries! You will be escorted for the entire RIDE by the Brevard County Sheriff's Department, with Sheriff Jack Parker and his wife making the run with you!
Since our RIDE is on VETERANS DAY, we are honoring our Veterans all day! Prior to the RIDE, the Sebastian Skydivers will do a Patriotic Drop In to kick off the RIDE! Kickstands up at 10:30 am. When the riders return to SC Harley, there will be a food court waiting the registered riders for lunch. To date we have the following restaurants confirmed: Shells Seafood, Izzy's Diner, Bayside Subway, and Leaning Tower of Pizza. At appx 1:30 we will ask all Veterans in attendance to come forward and be thanked for their service to our country! Without these brave men and women, we could not bring all of our beautiful babies into a country that is FREE and SAFE! We are asking any Purple Heart Recipients to contact the Space Coast Office 321-633-3047 in advance so we can introduce and thank you individually on stage. Operation StandUp will have the Iraqi Memorial Wall on display all weekend! We are also concerned about the many families in our community that are losing their jobs or their benefits, so one small way to help is bring diapers and diaper wipes for our collection!
We will announce the number of diapers collected at the end of the RIDE and present them to our partner, Healthy Start of Brevard, so they can deliver them to the homes of the neediest families! Put this event on your calendar, it is a great way for the family to spend Veterans Day: honoring our Veterans, helping save babies, and diapering the ones that are already here!! Even if you don't RIDE, you will have a great time and feel great helping 3 of the major issues in our community!
Schedule of Events:
November 2nd - First Pre-Ride Party at the newly opened Ted and Doc's Pizza Saloon on Palm Bay Rd; 5:00 p.m. -8:00 pm
November 9th - Melbourne Hooters for Pre-Ride Registration Party 6:00-9:00 pm
November 10th - Space Coast Harley-Davidson/Buell Dealership for their 2nd Anniversary Party; 9:00 am-5:00 pm (food, entertainment etc)
November 11th - The actual RIDE! 70 mile escorted RIDE, no stops for the riders as the Brevard County Sheriff's Department escorts the riders along a scenic route. Food, entertainment and prizes at the end of the RIDE. (RIDE begins and ends at Space Coast Harley Davidson/Buell Dealership at the corner of I-95 and Palm Bay Rd.
