The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. • Florida Folic Acid Coalition • The Florida Department of Health 2009 Florida Chapter State Grants Program Saving Babies in Florida March of Dimes Grantee Wins National Award Stork's Nest Stork’s Nest is a cooperative project of the March of Dimes and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. that provides prenatal education and incentives for low-income pregnant women. Project Alpha This collaborative project of the March of Dimes and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. provides young males with education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Comenzando Bien Comenzando bien is the March of Dimes prenatal education program for Hispanic women. It was developed in partnership with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and is culturally and linguistically appropriate for Hispanic women. Pregnancy Workshop The Pregnancy Workshop is a step-by-step prenatal curriculum that informs women how to care for themselves and their babies during pregnancy. Professional Education Programs The Florida Chapter offers a variety of professional education opportunities, including March of Dimes Nursing Modules, nursing conferences, grand rounds, and workshops.  Contact your local office for more information about dates, locations, and topics.
