March of Dimes Florida Chapter Names Jennifer Guy as Board Chair

Esteban Meneses, Public Relations Coordinator, March of Dimes, 321-274-8683, emeneses@marchofdimes.com

    Maitland, Florida, January 08, 2014 —

March of Dimes is pleased to announce that Jennifer M. Guy has been named Chair of the Florida Chapter Board. Based in Naples, Ms. Guy will be responsible for overseeing and influencing all business decisions and strategic plans of the Chapter; providing financial support and outreach; and, in coordination with the State Director, recruiting high-impact volunteer leaders, among other key duties.

“I’m honored to serve as Chair of the March of Dimes Florida Chapter Board,” commented Ms. Guy. “I look forward to working with all board members and the leadership team in overseeing the work of the organization toward improving the health of babies.”

Ms. Guy brings a wealth of experience in the health care, political and legal fields to this important position at the March of Dimes. As the manager of government relations for Health Managements Associates, she fundraises and administers numerous federal and state political action committees. She also develops and administers grassroots programming for 71 hospitals in 15 states and develops strategic campaign plans for federal and state elections.

In her previous position as corporate director of community and government relations for Baptist Health South Florida, Ms. Guy represented health care system interests and priorities before the federal and state entities, the Florida Legislature and local governments, and reviewed strategies for legislative and executive branch initiatives.

Through her dedication to philanthropy, Ms. Guy also holds memberships to the Boards of both the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence Foundation and KidsPACK. Additionally, she is a Steering Committee Member of the Federalist Society Tallahassee Lawyers Chapter. Ms. Guy holds a Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
