Mirine Dye is a maternal child health expert holding a Masters in Public Health and is a board certified lactation consultant who has dedicated many hours of volunteer service to the March of Dimes. Since 2009 she has served on the South Florida Program Service Committee which is responsible for determining how to best allocate division resources to community agencies focused on improving perinatal health and in bringing information and programs to the public. Mirine resides in the Florida Keys, and presently coordinates the Florida Keys Medical Reserve Corps.

As a volunteer, Mirine has presented to local groups such as the Keys Business and Professional Women’s chapter group on the March of Dimes Healthy Babies Healthy Business© program, conducted site visits to assess the quality of funded programs such as the Monroe Youth Challenge Program, and provided prematurity education to health care providers and the Medical Reserve Core during Prematurity Awareness Month. Her expertise in perinatal health benefits all of our volunteers when she conducts mission education and training for March for Babies Team Captains and as a member on the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year selection committee that honors nurses for excellence in the field of nursing. In addition, she has assisted with fundraising by meeting with Keys March of Babies teams including banks, Publix, and Kmart to thank them for their contributions that provide support for funded programs in the community.

Mirine is a leader in public health who has worked for hospitals, health departments, and government programs for over 10 years. Her goal is to reach the Keys underserved populations, due to the rural island proximity, and incorporate that into her work both at the local level, as a national trainer for Florida State University, and in her volunteer work in Haiti. She has presented at conferences at the CDC and NACCHO, and is a trainer for the WHO/UNICEF organizations on breastfeeding. Although her work takes her out of town often, Mirine remains dedicated to the mission of the March of Dimes and volunteers her time and expertise as often as possible.
