The March of Dimes Illinois Chapter is pleased to release community grant opportunities for 2010- 2011.

As part of the March of Dimes Prematurity Campaign , the Chapter Grants program is designed to invest in priority projects that further the March of Dimes mission, support national prematurity campaign efforts to help families have healthier babies, and further our strategic goal of reducing disparities in birth outcomes.

At this time, the Illinois Chapter is releasing two types of grant applications:

Community Award:  These are applications to support activities smaller in scale for community educational programs, purchase of  March of Dimes health education materials or curricula such as Becoming a Mom/Comenzando bien®, or educational conferences for consumers or professionals.  Community Awards up to $2,600 may be granted to programs that provide services within the State of Illinois.  Deadline:  October 22, 2010.

Chapter Community Grant: These are applications for larger scale projects focusing on the Chapter priorities with awards ranging from $3,000 to $50,000.  Please see the application for specific funding priorities for 2010-2011.  Priority is given to projects that are evidence-based, include measurable outcomes, and promote equity in birth outcomes. Services must be provided in the State of Illinois and may focus on either consumers or providers.   (Please note that Chapter Community Grants do not fund scientific research projects.  For more information about research grants, please refer to the March of Dimes website at marchofdimes.com.) Deadline: October 29, 2010.
