Project Alpha
Through a cooperative agreement between the March of Dimes and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, the program Project Alpha is designed to involve African-American males in addressing the problem of teen pregnancy. This one-day seminar includes group discussions on human reproduction, STD awareness, values and goals, and issues revolving around teen pregnancy.

Objectives:

  • Provides education for males 12-15 years old on sexuality, fatherhood and the role of males in relationships.
  • Motivates young men to make decisions about their goals and values, and act in ways that support their decisions.
  • Builds young men's skills through role-playing.
  • Utilizes appropriate male role models and mentors.
