"CELEBRANDO LA MUJER LATINA …UN DIA PARA TI," 6TH ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE TO CELEBRATE LATINA WOMEN
Call For Artists to Create Image
The March of Dimes is calling for artists to create the image for its 6th annual conference “Celebrando La Mujer Latina…Un Dia Para Ti”. This conference was created as part of the March of Dimes efforts to reach out to women in the Latino community regarding the many health benefits of the consumption of folic acid for all women of childbearing age. By taking a mutli-vitamin daily that contains 400 mcg of folic acid, women can reduce their risk of having a child born with a neural tube defect by up to 70%. This annual, day-long event provides a unique opportunity for Chicagoland's Spanish-speaking Latina women to participate in lectures and discussions presented entirely in Spanish. Other important health issues relevant to our community that will also be presented include maintaining balanced and healthy lifestyles for all ages, healthcare during the childbearing years, alternative medicine, cancer prevention and treatment, and demystifying health myths.
The artwork submitted for consideration should reflect the theme, target audience, and mission of the conference. It should also be an original and include no copyrighted art, logos, or trademarks of any kind. The winning image will be used to promote the conference including but not limited to print ads, invitations, flyers, canvas bags, 15,000 registration brochures, and television ads. This is an excellent opportunity for unlimited and priceless exposure for the winning artist. The artist will also be awarded $1,000 from LaSalle Bank, sponsor of the art contest and unveiling reception.
There is no limit to the number of entries submitted. The winning image will be chosen by the planning committee for Celebrando La Mujer Latina. All entry designers will be invited to the unveiling reception where the winning artist and image will be announced. Please visit marchofdimes.com/illinois or call Veronica Aboleda at 312-596-4717 for specific entry guidelines. "Celebrando La Mujer Latina…Un Día Para Ti” has been made possible through the generous sponsorships of LaSalle Bank, Nordstrom, The Chicago Marriott Downtown, and UnivisionChicago/Telefutura Chicago.
