2009 Chapter Grants List Released

1. St. Francis Family Medicine Center, Beech Grove, IN
Centering Pregnancy in a Family Medicine Residency Program
Funding from the March of Dimes will allow St. Francis Family Medicine Centert to have a significant impact on the health of the mothers and babies by fostering empowerment through knowledge, which will encourage women to make healthier choices for themselves and their families.. 
 
2. Maple City Health Care Center, Goshen, IN 
Vistas de Alcance (Visits for Outreach)
Funding from the March of Dimes will allow the Maple City Health Care Center provide low-income, uninsured Hispanic mothers with bilingual outreach workers to visit mothers in their home to provide risk reducing education and health care.

3. Women’s Care Center, Mishawaka, IN
Comprehensive Prenatal Support
Funding from the March of Dimes will allow Women’s Care Center to offer new prenatal education programs (group classes, 1-on-1 birth preparation, & Doula services) & Medicaid enrollment for pregnant women at no cost.

4. St. Vincent Foundation, Indianapolis, IN
Centering Pregnancy Program
Funding from the March of Dimes will assist in the establishment of a Centering Pregnancy program at the St. Vincent Primary Care Center..

5. St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, IN
Centering Prengancy at Midwifery of Michiana
Funding from the March of Dimes will assist the Midwifery Program to provide support, outreach, and education to pregnant women.

6. Bloomington Hospital Foundation, Bloomington, IN
Fresh Start to Life
Funding from the March of Dimes will assist Bloomington Hospital in providing targeted education-based outreach to local health care providers & community organizations and 1-on-1 education-based home visits.


7. Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County, Indianapolis, IN
Future Promises Program
Funding from the March of Dimes will allow for the expansion of a school/community program for pregnant and parenting teens in Marion County.  Services will include serving teens that attend three (3) alternative high schools and provide expanded services to the program participants who are temporarily out of school.

8. Deaconess Family Medicine Residency, Evansville, IN
Healthy Expectations
Funding from the March of Dimes will allow Deaconess Family Medicine Residency to increase efforts to educate obese women on the importance of  adequate weight gain during their pregnancy.
