Prematurity Awareness Month Activities and Prematurity Awareness Day Observance Activities held across Indiana included pink and blue lights on buildings and in parks, NICU tours, conferences for health professionals and volunteers, rallies, media interviews, candlelight vigils and more all part of Prematurity Campaign.
The March of Dimes wants people to know that premature birth is a common, serious and costly problem for Indiana families and conducted awareness events across Indiana as part of its National Prematurity Awareness Month, centered on the second Tuesday in November which is national Prematurity Awareness Day.
One of the easiest ways to show your concern for babies and support of the fight against prematurity is with the colors of pink and blue. The way volunteeers used pink and blue included:
- Wearing pink and blue to work and school.
- Tying pink and blue ribbons around trees in yards and the workplace.
- Using pink and blue lights in porchlights, on houses.
- Businesses lit landscaping pink and blue.
- Large building with exterior lighting placed pink and blue gels over the exterior lights in November.
