| (Indianapolis, IN, February 12, 2008)—March of Dimes new State Director Tanya Hand is not new to the fight to help critically ill newborns. After her infant son died, Hand established J.T.’s Hand – A Neonatal Fund to help other babies and families in Indianapolis. In January of 2008 Hand accepted the post of State Director for the March of Dimes Indiana Chapter in an effort to expand her positive impact on the lives of mothers and babies.
“Tanya brings a singular dedication to our mission and energetic pursuit of healthy birth outcomes which is a tremendous asset to the March of Dimes battle for the health of all babies in Indiana,” says Dennis Casey, March of Dimes State Board of Directors Chair. “She brings great talent to the March of Dimes in terms of her successful non-profit leadership,” says Casey. “She also brings the motivation of being a mother who experienced the death of a newborn. She believes, like we all do, that the March of Dimes offers the best hope that one day all babies will be born healthy.”
The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies.
