| The long success of the March of Dimes Lafayette Signature Chefs event continues with another remarkable evening as more than 325 guests packed the Purdue Memorial Union raising close to $50,000 on the evening of October 16th.
"On behalf of the March of Dimes, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to the compassionate people of Greater Lafayette and their enthusiastic support of the 17th Annual Signature Chefs Auction," says Vikki Van Kirk, 2008 Signature Chefs Auction Chair.
"Sixteen area restaurants and caterers generously gave the time and talents to the event, " said Van Kirk. "We also had great silent auction items and fabulous live auction packages, all donated to help further the mission of the March of Dimes. Even in these uncertain economic times, local businesses and individuals gave generously," she says.
"To the volunteers, restaurants, caterers and businesses who made this event so successful, thank you for joining the March of Dimes to help give all babies the gift of a healthy start," says Van Kirk.
The volunteer committee enjoyed the addition of new membership in 2008. The new members and veterans on the committee combined to create a singular group of caring, commited and successful volunteers that ensured the success of the event.
