The March of Dimes Mission
To improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives.

NICU Family Support
In 2001 the March of Dimes developed and launched NICU Family Support to provide information and comfort to families during the NICU hospitalization.  Here in Iowa, NICU Family Support is housed at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA. 





Prematurity Curriculum
The March of Dimes Central Division has developed a comprehensive prematurity curriculum to educate and inform students of the risks involved with premature birth. 





Community Grants 2009
The Iowa State Chapter supports a variety of programs statewide that focus on healthy birth outcomes.  In 2009, the Iowa Chapter funded six grant projects and two community award projects to improve the health of babies in Iowa.





Pregnancy Workshop
The Pregnancy Workshop is a step-by-step prenatal curriculum that informs women how to care for themselves and their babies during pregnancy.



Commenzando Bien
Comenzando bien is the March of Dimes prenatal education program for Hispanic women. It was developed in partnership with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and is culturally and linguistically appropriate for Hispanic women.



Stork's Nest
Stork’s Nest is a cooperative project of the March of Dimes and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. that provides prenatal education and incentives for low-income pregnant women.





Project Alpha
This collaborative project of the March of Dimes and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. provides young males with education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
