LARGEST MARCH OF DIMES MOTORCYCLE RIDE IN THE UNITED STATES!
Kansas City, MO.- On Sunday, September 12, join an estimated 6,000 motorcycle enthusiasts who will ride and raise money to support the March of Dimes mission of improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Last year, 5,178 Kansas City area riders generously donated $377,000 making this event the #1 March of Dimes RIDE in the United States.
The 100+ mile all-Kansas scenic route will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Kansas Speedway. Johnny Dare of 98.9 The Rock will serve as Honorary Chair and will be accommodated by KCTV 5’s Gary Amble to lead the RIDE. For the rider’s minimum $30 registration fee, they can enjoy complimentary lunch donated by Outback Steakhouse, Peoples’ Choice Bike Show, Motorcycle Dealer Displays, Ararat Shrine Motor Corps, Vintage Bike Display and a factory Dyno Shoot Out, hosted by Mid America Power Sports Plus and featuring the Anaconda, the World’s only ten-seat motorcycle.
Before participating in the event, riders collect contributions from family, friends and other motorcycle enthusiasts to help the March of Dimes fund vital research and programs to find the causes of prematurity.
"Premature birth affects more than 476,000 babies in the U.S. every year and the rates are rising. It is a much bigger problem than people realize. By riding in this event, you will support March of Dimes efforts to raise awareness of the problem and support research to save babies right here in Kansas City and across the nation," says Penny Sharp, Bikers for Babies® RIDE Co-Chair.
All interested riders, or if you are interested in participating but don’t ride, contact the Kansas City March of Dimes office at 816.561.0175. Visit www.marchofdimeskc.org for more information. All motorcycles welcome, rain or shine!
