Greater Kansas Chapter Grant Funding 2010 |
| In an effort to pursue substantial impact on preterm birth, the Greater Kansas Chapter along with the Chapter Program Services Committee, has chosen to transition to a Chapter-Directed Mission Investment funding plan. This structure allows us to identify focus areas relevant to our chapter and commit to the targeted and long-term support necessary to impact change. Additionally, it allows greater flexibility in our support of programs that pursue our focus areas and gives us ownership of our visibility, outcomes and impact.
The Greater Kansas Chapter has committed to two primary issues: First, we seek to address disparities in preterm birth such as preconception and prenatal care through incentive-based programs. For example: Second, we seek to address late preterm birth through Quality Improvement initiatives primarily focused on hospitals and physicians with the purpose of reducing elective c-sections and inductions. Proposals will be accepted from organizations with the capacity, competence and experience to accomplish project goals and objectives relating to one of our targeted issues. Projects interventions may be provider and/or consumer focused. Interventions must be provided within the local chapter's specified geographic area. In order to be eligible to receive a March of Dimes chapter grant, an organization must be an incorporated not-for-profit 501(c)(3) or for profit organization or government agency. The March of Dimes does not award grants to individuals. If your program fits these requirements, we invite you to contact us for additional information and application instructions.
