| Overland Park, Kan. -- The March of Dimes Foundation has hired Ken Jackson as State Director of its Greater Kansas Chapter. Jackson was previously Executive Director of the ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or “Lou Gehrig's disease”) Association’s Tennessee Chapter.
In his current role, Jackson will be responsible for the day-to-day overall management of the Greater Kansas Chapter as an executive leader, manager, trainer and recruiter of volunteers and staff in meeting the objectives of the Foundation. His principle role and responsibilities include financial management, fund development, planning, volunteer development and program services. The March of Dimes Greater Kansas Chapter, which encompasses the state of Kansas and five counties in Western Missouri, raised more than $2.8 million in 2007.
“I am excited to be part of a March of Dimes chapter that was so successful last year,” Jackson said. “I am looking forward to continued growth and improving the health of moms and babies across Kansas and Western Missouri.”
Before his role with the ALS Association, Jackson was Regional Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Kansas and Western Missouri for seven and a half years. A native of St. Louis, Jackson has a degree in communications/public relations from Southeast Missouri State University.
