The March of Dimes Kansas Chapter funds programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. This includes providing financial support to programs and education that will help moms before and during their pregnancies. It also includes working with local medical groups and organizations to improve prenatal care and newborn screening.
Grants are given to projects that address the urgent needs of moms and babies. Grants are generally awarded for one to three years and range in funding amounts.
The March of Dimes Kansas Chapter uses gifts wisely. We award grants based on a number of criteria, including the group or organization’s ability to accomplish its goals, as well as the potential impact a project will have in helping us prevent premature births, birth defects and infant mortality. Specifically in Kansas, grant priorities include African-American outreach, Hispanic outreach, NICU family support and the elimination of elective pre-term deliveries.
