The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Apply Now for FY 2009 Chapter Community Grants The March of Dimes Maine Chapter has released the Request for Proposals for the FY 2009 Chapter Community Grants Program. A two page Letter of Intent should be sent electronically to the Maine Chapter office no later than June 27, 2008. Visit Prematurity Awareness Month 2007 November is Prematurity Awareness Month.  Prematurity Awareness Day in 2007 is Tuesday, November 13th. Prematurity Campaign in Maine 2007 Community Grants For fiscal year 2007, the Maine Chapter had a $40,000 grants budget line. We had eleven agencies requesting $155,289.  We were able to fund four grants. Donating is easy online, by phone or mail / fax.
