Prematurity Campaign in Maine

Preterm and Low Birthweight births are on the rise.  Babies born too soon and too small struggle to survive those first few weeks and sometimes months of life. They are more likely to have developmental delays, chronic respiratory problems and vision or hearing impairment. The March of Dimes is dedicated to reducing the number of babies born early and/or too small; programs focus on education about the signs of preterm labor and research into the causes.

Preemie Project 1372:  Thank you for helping us with Preemie Project 1372.  Through statewide, grassroots sewing efforts, we hope to collect 1,372 preemie-sized clothes to put on public display to visually demonstrate the extent of the premature birth epidemic in Maine. We hope that you will join us for the Prematurity Awareness Day® events on November 15th.  Click here for more information.
