March of Dimes RIDE - Bikers for Babies
Harford County, Maryland
Join us for the 9th Annual March of Dimes RIDE - Bikers for Babies; the largest police escorted motorcycle ride in Maryland! The 2005 event boasted a line of riders more than 15 miles long!
FACTS: The Maryland Chapter RIDE was started by a group of local motorcycle enthusiasts in Harford County in 1997. Over the past nine years the event has grown tremendously, both in terms of participation and in funds raised. The community - including riders and non-riders have proven their continuous dedication to this event year after year.
WHY: Although the March of Dimes has made great strides in improving the health of moms and babies, we have a long way to go. In an average week in Maryland; 1,384 babies are born, 125 are born low birth weight, 26 are born very low birth weight and 12 babies die before their first birthday. Join us and thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts in riding and raising money to support the March of Dimes mission.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: Sign up to become a part of ride! Through the outstanding fundraising efforts during RIDE and other special events in 2005, the Maryland Chapter of the March of Dimes has provided $125,000 in funding to local community organizations for year 2006 to help support our mission of improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality.
Don't forget to bring all your riding buddies! This year's event will start and finish at Ripken Stadium, Aberdeen, MD - with plenty of parking for motorcycles.
