Since its beginning, the March of Dimes has depended on the gererosity of people like you to carry out its mission of saving babies. Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.

From stuffing envelopes to chairing an event committee, the March of Dimes Maryland-National Capital Area Chapter has numerous volunteer opportunities for you throughout the year.  Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

Program Services: Seeking professionals with maternal child care, public health, rural health, social work and/or grant-writing experience to assist with advancing the mission of the March of Dimes in Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.  Activities include grant reviews, outreach and awareness events, and healthcare education efforts.  If interested, please contact Dona Dei at (703) 824-0111, ext. 14, or ddei@marchofdimes.com.

March for Babies planning committees: Volunteers are needed in Washington, D.C., and communities in Maryland and Northern Virginia to sell sponsorship opportunities, recruit volunteers and new teams, and plan and implement kickoff and walk day activities.  For more information, please contact Tina Solomita at csolomita@marchofdimes.com or contact your nearest March of Dimes office.

Special Events: There are several opportunities to help plan and implement Gourmet Gala, Golf for Babies, Signature Chefs Auction, Festival of Trees, Heroines in Technology, Bikers for Babies, Bolt for Babies 5K and Ladies Night Out.  To learn more about an upcoming event in your area, please click here and contact the staff person listed in the event description.

Several clubs and organizations partner with the March of Dimes to help further our mission. These groups participate in fundraising events and program activities that reach out to the community. Sponsorship of March of Dimes events and programs promotes a positive corporate image, which supports marketing and sales goals. When you partner with the March of Dimes, you're associating your name and/or product with an organization whose reputation, history and accomplishments stand alone.
