LOCATION: Dallas, TX
REASON FOR OPENING: New Position
POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide direction and leadership to support both staff and volunteers in each chapter, using established plans and incentives, in optimizing publicity and promotional efforts in each market to achieve the Foundation’s awareness, volunteer and revenue goals.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In coordination with regional and national communications staff, guide the development and implementation of coordinated, comprehensive support of local communications and marketing strategies and tactics in fulfillment of the Foundation’s awareness, volunteer and revenue goals.
- Provide necessary and appropriate tools, instruction and support to enable chapter communications staff to localize comprehensive media and marketing plans for priority fundraising and mission events.
- In coordination with the regional team, identify and develop corporate and media sponsorship and promotional opportunities that can be grown from local to chapter/regional/national levels.
- In coordination with the national Media Relations team, facilitate chapter involvement in national media opportunities.
- Assist the regional office in planning and development of regional meetings, including scripting and staging.
- Assist chapter staff in 1) the selection and training of qualified communications staff and 2) meeting minimum standards for communications plans and volunteer committees.
- Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions and workshops to develop chapter staff and volunteer communications skills.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in communications or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of communications experience. Five or more years of marketing experience.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the areas of: media relations, marketing, sponsorship development, writing, graphic design/desktop publishing (Adobe).
