TITLE: Regional NICU Family Support® Director
REPORTS TO: Regional Vice President
LOCATION: Dallas, TX
REASON FOR OPENING: New Position
POSITION PURPOSE:
To support and guide the expanding NICU Family Support® project in West Region chapters, providing direction and assistance to chapter staff in achieving and maintaining quality services for families; offering professional development for NICU staff; ensuring service to all families within a project site; connecting families served with the March of Dimes; and sustaining funding for the project.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guide chapter staff, especially directors of program services and specialists, in conducting a quality NICU Family Support® project(s) in their state that includes the core components and meets the standards set for the project in the national implementation guide.
- Assess project status, redirect activities where necessary, guide chapter staff in hospital relationships, including problem-solving, site visits and hands-on assistance.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to directors of program services in the hiring and management of NICU Family Support® specialists, administration and budgeting of the project and completion of reports and reviews of the project and its components.
- Work collaboratively with regional program staff and the entire regional team to lead grant-writing and support general fundraising efforts for the project, including proposal research and development, presentation and technical assistance for chapter staff in grant-writing.
- Maintain regular contact and coordination with the national NICU Family Support® team to ensure the project sites are meeting key objectives; that Directors of Program Services and specialists are participating in training and receiving technical assistance offered; that national team is aware of challenges and best practices with the project; and to help identify opportunities in chapters areas for new products and services, including NICU Family Support Centers and Hospital Licensing of the project.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- A Master’s Degree or similar high-level education in Social Work, Education, Public Health, Nursing, or related field.
- 5-7 years of work experience delivering services to parents and families in a NICU or other inpatient pediatric or similar setting or as chapter program staff.
- Basic knowledge of the emotional and medical issues inherent in a NICU hospitalization; and March of Dimes chapter programs and operations, including direct experience with managing the NICU Family Support® project.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and volunteers; project management and grants management, including grant-writing, experience. Proven track record of success in securing grants.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the West Region.
